Charlotte & Thomas - St. Andrew's Church and Les Caches Farm

What a truly beautiful and intimate wedding for a delightful couple.

It was a busy scene with Charlotte getting ready at her mum’s house.

The weather was grey, drizzly and windy, yet this made the warm interior of the church even more welcoming. Guernsey’s Dean, Tim Barker conducted a lovely ceremony. A proud moment for Charlotte’s grandpa who walked her up the aisle.

It was just dry enough for confetti after the ceremony, before everyone made their way to Les Caches Farm for the reception.

Family and friends had decorated the interior of Les Caches to stunning effect, well worth the effort.

I love winter weddings, there is an ambience about them and Les Caches Farm was the perfect cosy setting.

Congratulations to Charlotte & Tom!

Dominique & Daniel - St. Matthew's Church & St. Pierre Park Hotel

One of my most anticipated weddings ever, not just because of the covid postponements but also because I knew this event was always going to be a bit special.

One of the most creative couples I know and I have always admired Dominique’s design work. This wedding was her chance to show off a lot of that talent.

WIth so many people all getting ready in one place there was a lot going on, but everyone was ready nicely on time.

Military vehicles were an unusual mode of transport to St. Matthew’s Church!

Dominique was walked into the church and up the aisle in a relay with her two brothers in law and lastly her brother Mark. Reverend Gillian Nobes conducted a wonderful ceremony, full of laughter and emotion.

A quick stop in the park on the way to the reception.

Emma Joy from Joy’s Production, had decorated the dining room to spectacular effect. Dominique’s reaction said it all! Well done to Emma and her team. Dominique’s sisters had also made the cake, another labour of love. So intricately detailed and with a screen displaying the beautiful engagement pictures we took of Dominique & Daniel.

Speeches were so touching, lots of emotion, and humour too.

Just when everyone thought the speeches were all over - Dominique took to the stage, accompanied by Lydia Pugh, she sang a song she had written to Daniel, undoubtedly the most poignant moment of the day!

A great first dance then everyone took to the dance floor, with the band The Honest Crooks providing the entertainment.

What a remarkable day! There were great expectations for this day, I am sure these were surpassed.

Congratulations Dominique & Daniel.

Miranda & Gary - The Farmhouse Hotel

This was always going to be a characterful event. Gary and his groomsmen arrived for the ceremony at The Farmhouse in their rally cars, parking in a useful arrangement for a picture I had envisaged later that night.

Miranda got ready at The Farmhouse, all we had to do was walk down the stairs to the ceremony in the garden. Very convenient.

A proud moment for Miranda’s dad, John, as they walked down the aisle. Jayne White of White Dove conducted a beautiful ceremony.

A lot of confetti showered the couple, topped off by a couple of smoke bombs at the end!

After some family groups and pictures in the garden it was time to be called in to the beautifully decorated dining room. Miranda & Gary had made a lot of the details themselves, a very novel seating plan with model cars and a wall of illuminated bicycle wheels being just a couple of examples.

Speeches were touching. Miranda and Gary did a joint speech which worked brilliantly and was really well received.

The first dance was a lovely moment, Miranda and Gary soon being joined by others. Underdog were the band for the night, their great performance kept the dance floor heaving!

A tricky moment to capture with the groomsmen leaping into the pool! But great fun!

Not easy to avoid the splashing water!

To finish, that idea I had with the cars - 4 pairs of headlights, several flashes and smoke bombs let off by Gary’s ushers, we had to work fast but I am sure you will agree we achieved a spectacular result!

Congratulations Miranda & Gary, what a wonderful wedding day!

Helen & Andrew - Les Capelles Methodist Church & The Farmhouse Hotel

Helen looked quite stunning in her dress, with a very impressive veil.

The ceremony was held at Capelles Methodist Church.

Only 5 minutes late!

Rev. Howard Stringer conducted a great ceremony. The singing was beautiful, no doubt helped by the amazing Bel Canto choir.

We stopped for a few pictures on the way to the beautifully decorated Farmhouse Hotel. Perfect weather with some well placed clouds!

We had some entertaining speeches.

We had some lovely evening light for a few pictures, amazing what you can come up with just in the corner of the car-park! Then it was time for the cake cutting, followed by a very dynamic first dance!

Element 6 provided the music for the night, another very impressive performance which kept the dance floor packed.

That veil looked great on the dance floor too! Congratulations Helen & Andy, have a wonderful honeymoon.

Anna & Guillaume - Les Caches Farm

What a truly charming day this was! In such a beautiful and intimate setting that was perfectly suited to this wedding.

We made sure we were at the National Trust of Guernsey’s Les Caches Farm well before any of the guests arrived so we could cover the set up for the ceremony and dining room.

The ceremony was upstairs and Anna was escorted up the aisle by her father. Annette Henry conducted a lovely ceremony with some touching moments.

Back out into the sunshine for some confetti followed by drinks. A good time to take some pictures of people having a great time and interacting. Such a lovely setting for a wedding of this size.

Speeches were before the meal, then more opportunity for people to mingle outside. The weather was perfect for the occasion.

We finished off with some pictures in the early evening.

Such a special day, congratulations to Anna & Guillaume!

Sarah & James - St. Matthew's Church & The Peninsula Hotel

Another beautiful day for the wedding of Sarah & James.

The ceremony was at St. Matthew’s Church, very convenient as Sarah got ready at their nearby home.

Rev. Beverley Herve conducted a really lovely ceremony.

We had a quick stop at the park for a few pictures. Dare I mention James lost his ring there? A huge thanks to my wife and assistant, Karen, after a worried few minutes with us all searching she found it on the gravel path to much relief!

The dining room of The Peninsula was beautifully decorated.

Speeches were excellent, well done to Andy, the best man, for great entertainment.

After the first dance Neon Fire played some fabulous music which kept the dance floor really busy. After their last set the playlist included some Status Quo, a great way to complete the evening, I could hear Quo in my ears way after I got home!

Congratulations to Sarah & James!

Samantha & Leigh

A delightful little wedding, held in the family garden near Perelle. The weather was just right, with a hint of a breeze keeping things from getting too hot.

After everyone mingled for drinks Sammy re-appeared in her wedding dress for the ceremony.

Michelle Duquemin conducted the lovely ceremony.

The garden was certainly a splendid setting for the wedding.

Sammy’s sister brought Callie the dog round with the wedding rings, this all worked beautifully and was a lovely touch!

What a beautiful day, congratulations to Sammy & Leigh!

Ambremarlys & Andrew - St. Matthew's Church

Ambremarlys & Andrew enjoyed a delightful ceremony at St. Matthew’s Church recently. Already married in France they had this additional event in Guernsey.

Rev. Linda Le Vasseur conducted the lovely ceremony.

As part of the ceremony they had a book giving and also a touching ribbon tying where selected people were invited to tie a ribbon round the couple’s hands.

After the ceremony we had a bit of fun at the park for some pictures.

Congratulations to Ambremarlys & Andrew!

Nikki & Rob - Octopus Restaurant

Nikki & Rob were already legally married, this was the occasion to share with their family and friends.

They got ready at the Fermain Valley Hotel, Nikki with her bridesmaids and a large group of children filled all the space in the room. It was a busy scene!

Family group pictures in the gardens followed, before the guests were taken by bus to Octopus for the ceremony.

This was our first wedding at Octopus, it certainly was a great venue. Andrew Taylor took the ceremony, get the accreditation Andy - you seemed a natural and did a fantastic job!

The pleasant weather was just right for speeches to be held outside.

The day had a very relaxed and informal feel to it, lots of opportunity for people to get together for a chat. The cake cutting had a lovely backdrop of a calm Havelet Bay and Castle Cornet.

This was followed by a thoroughly entertaining first dance! Well done to Nikki & Rob!

What a beautiful day, congratulations Nikki & Rob!

Alice & Jake - Dove Tree Villa & Les Villets

Alice & Jake had an absolutely wonderful day for their wedding. Gorgeous locations and gorgeous weather too.

The ceremony site looked stunning in the the morning sunshine.

It was a busy morning, but everyone was in great spirits and having fun. The emotion showed when Alice read her beautifully moving card from Jake.

Jake and his groomsmen also had a busy morning before waiting at the ceremony for Alice and her mum to walk up the aisle.

Caryn from White Dove conducted a lovely ceremony. Drinks and family group photographs followed before everyone made their way to Les Villets for the reception.

The reception site was spectacular, with the marquee looking wonderful both inside and outside. Speeches were thoroughly entertaining!

Soon it was time for the dancing. We were treated to some great music, firstly to the energetic band Youth. They were followed by DJ James Williams together with Colin Falla, this was an unusual and fantastic combination with Colin improvising to whatever the DJ put on, absolutely brilliant! A great way to see the night out, congratulations to Alice & Jake.

Roxanne & Ben - Fleur du Jardin Hotel

We enjoyed a really spectacular day for Roxanne & Ben’s wedding held at the Fleur du Jardin Hotel.

The site had been very beautifully set out with hay bales for the outdoor ceremony and the teepee for the reception. All perfect in the sunshine and blue sky.

teepee and ceremony site in sunshine and blue skies

Ben and his grooms men got ready at his parents, all nice and convenient being close by.

Meanwhile Roxanne was getting at the Fleur with her bridesmaids and grans.

Literally a couple of minutes after the last picture of Roxanne was taken, a heavy showery band of rain crossed overhead. Just a few minutes before the scheduled start of the ceremony, the assembled guests were sent scurrying for shelter with brollies and ponchos! What a contrast to the conditions when the opening picture was taken.

The local rain radar was viewed closely and it seemed that after 20 minutes the shower would pass by and we would have just enough time to hold the ceremony before the next shower. To keep the mood up, Roxanne’s bridesmaids sprung into action with some fun entertainment, exactly what great friends are for.

The weather soon cleared, no one was more relieved than Jackie of White Dove who was the celebrant for the wedding!

After the bridesmaids entrance we had one of the highlights of the day, the flower grannies! After helping Roxanne get ready, they walked up the aisle before the bride and her dad, exuberantly showering petals as they went!

Soon after the ceremony the next band of rain passed through quickly, people enjoyed their drinks in the hotel Tap Room. Then we had perfect weather for the remainder of the day.

Another highlight of the day was the arrival of Roxanne & Ben’s dogs, Jam & Scones! Possibly the most difficult subjects to photograph the whole day, but we did manage to get some lovely pictures of them.

With everyone enjoying the sun outside again, they didn’t have far to go to the so beautifully decorated teepee. Speeches were very entertaining.

The fun continued into the evening with a meat draw and card games!

The wedding cake was a Colin the Caterpillar cake! After the first dance we popped to the beach for some lovely sunset pictures, then back to the great music of Element 6 and an absolutely packed dance floor.

Congratulations Roxanne & Ben on a truly memorable day!

Anne-Marie & Richard - Churchill Avenue, Cambridge Park & The Duke of Richmond Hotel

What a special day this was for Anne-Marie & Richard. After a two year wait from their original wedding date they finally were able to celebrate with all their family and friends.

Anne-Marie got ready at The Duke of Richmond Hotel, very convenient with just a stroll across the road to the ceremony.

Richard and his groomsmen had a quick drink at the hotel before going to the beautifully laid out ceremony site amongst the trees in Churchill Avenue within Cambridge Park. Emma and her team from Joy’s Production Services had worked hard to set it all up. The large flower arch from The New Rose Bowl was a stunning feature.

Caryn from White Dove conducted a lovely ceremony.

After the ceremony we took family group pictures before going to the conveniently close Candie Gardens for some pictures of Anne-Marie & Richard.

There was plenty of time for people to mingle and enjoy a drink before the call to dine. Toby Falla provided his great music and singing. Again the dining room was beautifully decorated. Speeches were very entertaining.

All too soon it seemed to be time for the first dance, DJ Party On provided the entertainment.

A couple of pictures from a session on the cliffs at sunset to complete our coverage. Congratulations to Anne-Marie & Richard!

Jessica & Jason - St. Joseph's Church & The Peninsula Hotel, Guernsey

A beautiful day for Jessica & Jason’s wedding, also combined with a lovely christening for their sweet daughter Poppy!

Jessica got ready at the St. Pierre Park Hotel with her bridesmaids, a nice relaxed and jovial time.

Jason got ready at The Peninsula, time for a drink before everyone made their way to St. Joseph’s Church for the ceremony. Jessica was driven to the church in her Father’s Bentley, the car has seen all three of his daughters’ weddings.

Canon Chris conducted a great ceremony, touching and humorous too. Poppy took the christening with no fuss at all, a very sweet event.

After the ceremony we visited the cliffs for some quick pictures before the reception at The Peninsula.

Anya Mancini sang beautifully before the call in to dine, as well as at the church.

Speeches were thoroughly entertaining, the master of ceremonies built up the best man’s speech - no pressure then! He certainly did not disappoint!

Plenty of time for some evening fun, some great ice-cream from Le Hechet Farm and some sunset pictures - all before the first dance!

DJ Q-Sky kept everyone on the dance floor which was heaving.

A truly fabulous day. Congratulations to Jessica & Jason.

Megan & James - Old Government House Hotel

That was a busy weekend! Megan & James had their lovely wedding ceremony and reception at the OGH.

James got ready at home and was taken to the OGH on the Grey bus (yes it used to take me school more than a few years ago!) Megan and her bridesmaids stayed at the OGH for their preparations, very convenient.

Just a short walk downstairs to the ceremony in the stunning Regency Room.

The ceremony was conducted by Jayne White of White Dove, an event full of humour and smiles.

After the ceremony, confetti and group shots took place on the front steps of the OGH. People took full advantage of the conveniently closed road!

This was followed by drinks in the sunshine on the terrace, before speeches and food in the efficiently re-arranged Regency Room.

Soon it was time for the cake cutting and first dance.

There was lots of music throughout the day, Toby Falla during the afternoon, then Side by Side sang for the first part of the evening and the first dance, then Last of the Light Brigade took over for their normal great performance.

What an amazing day! To finish here’s a couple of pictures from a session we did on the cliffs.

Kelly & James - Les Cotils

Kelly & James enjoyed a beautifully intimate wedding day at Les Cotils.

The weather was just perfect to have the ceremony outside, what a picturesque scene with the fresh greens of the spring growth, and blues of the sea and sky..

A few preparations before everyone started to gather together.

Kelly arrived nice and early with her dad, time to get a few pictures of her before the start of the ceremony.

It was a spectacular scene.

Caryn Bryne of White Dove conducted the really sweet ceremony.

Plenty of confetti and great fun, before a drinks reception on the lawn.

Our coverage of this lovely wedding finished when everyone settled into the beautifully decorated dining room.

Wishing you the very best for your future together.

Julia & Stuart - St. Apolline's Chapel & Les Cotils

This wedding season has generally some pretty good stable weather, Julia & Stuart’s was quite the opposite - a severe gale and torrential rain all day!

However I always tell people not to worry about the weather, bad weather can often be photogenic.

Julia got ready at home with her hair and make-up artists coming to her. A stress free preparation and she was ready in plenty of time, which gave us the opportunity to have some less rushed portraits than is typically the case!

On arrival at the chapel is was a case of an umbrella and a quick sprint to the shelter of the doorway.

JS004.jpg

St. Apolline’s is always a beautiful place for a wedding, it really suits an intimate wedding like this one. Rev. Mark Charmley conducted a lovely relaxed ceremony.

Family group photographs were taken in the chapel, then everyone had to brave the extremely heavy rain and wind. Julia was protected by all the umbrellas that people had with them, not an easy task in the wind…

It was welcoming and homely at Les Cotils, where the Harry Bound room had been beautifully decorated.

Stuart gave the only speech, again nicely in character with this informal and relaxed event. Everyone had plenty of time to chat and interact before the evening music began.

A small band of people kept the dancing going throughout the night and kept others entertained.

What a lovely day, best wishes for your future together.

Karen & Neil - St. Peter's Church and St. Pierre Park Hotel

What a day this was! Especially notable for such a great sense of fun and closeness between all of Karen & Neil’s family and friends.

Karen got ready at the St. Pierre Park Hotel, where the reception was to be held later. She was helped by her sister and daughters.

Neil got ready at home, there was quite a crowd there.

The couple have a long standing connection to Rev. Adrian Datta, his ceremony was wonderful, with some very touching moments, but also with moments of great humour.

A quick stop at the reservoir for some pictures before we made our way to the hotel for the reception. The dining room decor was spectacular with lots of beautiful details, clearly a lot of effort had gone into this.

This wedding was a very informal and relaxed day, initially the plan was not to have any speeches. However they proved to be one of the highlights of the wedding!

It seemed all too soon it was time for the first dance, there was a lot of dancing that followed until late.

What a great day, best wishes for your future together Karen & Neil.

Kira & Jason - St. Peter's Church & The Farmhouse Hotel

Kira & Jason had an amazing day for their wedding.

Kira got ready at home, they were well ahead of schedule, but that last hour always seems to vanish so quickly!

Jason looked after their daughter Alana overnight, great to give Kira a quieter night. He got ready at The Farmhouse before everyone made their way to St. Peter’s Church for the ceremony.

Rev. Adrian Datta conducted a lovely ceremony in his relaxed and friendly style.

A quick stop for pictures by the reservoir, before making our way to the reception at The Farmhouse. The dining room was stunningly decorated, with a forest theme.

Great speeches, Mark the bestman, not only entertained with his speech, as can be seen lower down he also entertained on the dance floor with some radical moves!

At dusk everyone gathered outside for sparklers, it all looked beautiful and was good fun. Then it was time for the dancing, Kira & Jason certainly performed a highly accomplished routine for their first dance.

Congratulations, what a lovely wedding day.

Charlotte & Toby - Town Church, Guernsey and The Old Government House Hotel

What a spectacular day Charlotte & Toby had for their wedding!

The day started with Toby and his groomsmen having to give each other a bit of assistance with the bow ties.

Charlotte got ready at The Old Government House Hotel, where the reception was to be held later. A beautiful moment as her dad saw her for the first time on her wedding day.

The Town Church was the venue for the ceremony, no sign of nerves from Toby as he waited in the church.

Rev. Matthew Barrett conducted a masterful ceremony, with great humour at times.

A stunning setting, I managed to create this panoramic from multiple images. This will look great as a double page spread in the wedding album.

Charlotte_Toby009.jpg

We stopped at Castle Carey for some pictures before going to the reception.

Plenty of time for people to interact in the beautiful weather before the call to dine in the stunningly decorated Regency Room. Speeches were thoroughly entertaining!

Charlotte’s mum had made the sugar flowers for the cake, quite beautiful! Toby’s ring is quite distinctive!

The excellent La Jazz Accord opened up the evening enertainment which DJs Q-Sky continued until late. Charlotte & Toby performed a great first dance. There was a lot of fun on the dance floor, a few images will be deleted, after all no need to see a kilt wearing Scotsman doing handstands on the dance floor!!

Congrtulations to Charlotte & Toby.

Emma & Richard - Castle Cornet and Octopus

Emma & Richard’s wedding was an intimate and lovely day.

Jayne White from White Dove conducted the ceremony, (on her own 30th wedding anniversary, congratulations!)

Castle Cornet is always a fantastic place to hold a wedding, even on this day wth a bit of a breeze present.

Emma & Richard’s little son looked so sweet in his outfit, a few brisk laps of the ceremony area soon settled him and he fell asleep!

This setting is quite spectacular for the ceremony.

People congregated in a sheltered corner for the drinks reception, while Colin Falla played some beautiful music. Afterwards everyone made the stroll to Octopus for the meal. It got pretty busy along the front due to the hill climb taking place.

There was a lovely atmosphere at Octopus, great interaction between those present, plus the chance to connect to those unable to be there physically.

A lovely day, congratulations to Emma & Richard.
